England Under 21
Nathan Delfouneso, Aston Villa's 20 year old England Under-21 international striker joined Burnley on loan until the end of the season in March 2011. He made his Clarets debut against Hull City at the KC Stadium on the night of Tuesday 8th March 2011. He had joined the club just a few hours earlier and was immediately drafted into the starting eleven.
Not only that but within 5 minutes he had scored to put the Clarets 1-0 up. A goal that would ultimately be the winner in our 1-0 victory.
Delfouneso came though Villa`s youth academy and has made the occasional appearance for their first team after making his debut in a UEFA Cup game in the 2008/9 season. Delfouneso made his league debut in March 2009 against Tottenham Hotspur coming on as a second half substitute for Gabriel Agbonlahor. He has made 24 first-team apperances for Villa scoring a couple of goals.
Although a recognised striker, Delfouneso has also played out on the wing.
He completed his loan early returning to Villa before our last game of the 2010-11 season.
