Grant became a Claret for the second time in July 2010 after rejoining his former boss at Sheffield Wednesday, Brian Laws. He had earlier had a short loan spell at Turf Moor whilst at Derby in the 2005-6 season.

He played 130 times for Burnley in a 3 year spell and won the fans player of the season award in 2012-13

He left to rejoin Derby County on a three year deal after refusing to accept new terms offered to him at the end of his contract (1st July 2013)
