Bikey signed for the Clarets from Reading in August 2009 for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £2.8-£3.0m. He signed a three-year deal and made his debut for the Clarets against Manchester United at Turf Moor on Wednesday 19th August 2009

He came in somewhat controversial circumstances after being sent off for a stamp on Robbie Blake in the Clarets play-offs semi-final first leg match against Reading the previous season. He will be remembered for his outburst and tantrum after being shown red and then seeing the red mist. He struggled in anger to take off his shirt and throw it to the ground which led to an FA reprimand and a five match ban plus a fine and reprimand from Reading gaffer at the time,Steve Coppell.

Bikey started his professional career with Espanyol in 2002. After a brief spell with Paços de Ferreira in 2004 he moved to Shinnik Yaroslavl in Russia, before signing for Lokomotiv Moscow in July 2005. Reading agreed a season-long loan deal in August 2006 with the Royals having an option to purchase the player at the end of the loan.

In April 2007 Bikey signed a three-year contract with Reading for a transfer fee believed to be over £1 million.

In July 2011, Bikey made it known he would now like to be known by his paternal surname, Amougou
