Guerrero is a Spanish national born in Ecuador. He came through Real Madrid's Acedemy and played for their Reserves team(Real Madrid Castilla)in Spain's Segunda División B for two years between 2007-9 before returning back to his homeland of Ecuador.

The Ecuador International impressed Owen Coyle during his trial in the US pre-season tour of 2009 and played in both games against VC Fusion and Portland Timbers.

He has agreed a one-year loan deal from his current club Independiente del Valle with a view to a permanent move for the start of season 2010-11. He is currently estimated to be worth £2 million by Independiente del Valle.

He managed just two starts in 2009-10 and both of those were in the Carling Cup away to Hartlepool and Barnsley. Guerrero was though a regular on the bench until Laws arrived. In total he was been on the bench 20 times, making 7 appearances. Clarets fans did not have much chance to see him play though since all the appearances from the bench were somewhat 'cameo' with under 20 minutes played in all cases.

With the arrival of Brian Laws, apart from two unused substitute appearances against Manchester United and Reading, Guerrero was not named in the eighteen up to his leaving.

His loan agreement was cancelled during March 2010 after new manager Brian Laws decided he was no longer in his future plans. He returned to his club in Ecuador despite rumoured loan interest from Middlesbrough
