Boro Beat Burnley

1 - 0

Riverside Stadium

Attendance: 19,966

Burnley's Championship season continued with a one-nil defeat against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday, meaning it's now six-matches without a win for the Clarets against a Boro side that don't concede!

After a goalless first half Emilio Nsue scored early in the second half from an Adam Forshaw cross to put Middlesbrough one-up, and win them the points....

This victory also saw Boro overtake Brighton (who they face at the weekend) at the top of the table.

Burnley's best opportunity came in the first half but George Boyd saw his effort well saved by Middlesbrough 'keeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos.

Tom Heaton made sure it remained at one with Cristhian Stuani and Albert Adomah both having chances to make sure of the points for Boro, but the Nsue goal was enough with more ground lost on the automatic promotion places.

These were the other results.

Blackburn 0-0 Nottm Forest

Tuesday 15th December 2015
Cardiff 3-2 Brentford
Charlton 2-2 Bolton

QPR 2-2 Brighton

Wednesday 16th December 2015
Hull 2-1 Reading

This game is yet to be played.

Thursday 17th December 2015
Wolves v Leeds 19:45

Looking at these results the stand out one (so far) has to be win for MK Dons.

Whereas a reference has to be made to both Cardiff and Brighton, who lost two-goal leads! In the case of the Bluebirds though they recovered to beat Brentford three-two but the Seagulls had settle for a two-two draw with QPR that saw them lose top spot.

Play-off pushing Sheffield Wednesday saw their hopes suffer a setback with a surprise setback at MK Dons with Karl Robinson's side running out two-one winners to collect an important three-points at the Stadium:MK.

It'll be another full schedule this coming weekend, the final games ahead of Christmas.

Hiccup. We'll be fine. Think Charlton needs to be a better day back at the office though. No excuses. No refereeing issues. No 'off-days'; No 'so many chances created'...
