Burnley bowed out of the Premier League with a win at Aston Villa on Sunday, keeping a third successive cleansheet as we won for a second successive game with Ings signing off in the best possible way before his summer departure.

His early goal at Villa Park was enough to see us through to a one-nil win but we also had the recently England called up Heaton to thank as he made a few fine saves to make sure that early lead was preserved.

In our first real attack the lead came our way as Ings (6), who admitted himself after the game that it was going to be his last game for us to follow up Dyche when he had basically confirmed what we already knew anyway before it, headed home Barnes' own header back across goal. His 11th goal of the season, with a performance too, will further increase the interest in the England U21 international this summer.

Villa weren't short of chances to at least get level as the game unfolded but it was Ings who was guilty of missing a chance that would have doubled our lead, which was preserved when Heaton saved well to keep out Benteke.

Heaton was at it again just before the break when he made a fine save when he turned a Westwood volley away, and over the bar, for a corner.

The possession, and chances, that Villa had counted for nothing as they couldn't use this advantage with us seeing out the second half thanks to further Heaton saves. Firstly he saved, with his legs, from Agbonlahor; then kept out potential England teammate Delph and finally a fine save to deny N'Zogbia as we ended the season on a high.

Ings was withdrawn late on so he could, rightly, be acknowledged but the travelling Burnley fans and show his support back.
