Burnley's Premier League return, at Turf Moor anyway, ended with a draw against Stoke on Saturday with our failure to score again, something we've managed only once in our last eight-matches, highlighting just why we've suffered an instant Championship return.

The fighting spirit we've shown can't be questioned but, as said, the nil-nil draw meant that as well as relegation we'll end with Turf Moor the lowest scoring ground in the topflight with this lack of goals, and wins, at home in particular contributing to our relegation.

Stoke on the other hand, they've had a very successful season as this point took them onto 51-points and that's a Premier League high points return....

Ings', most definitely, final game for Burnley at Turf Moor almost ended with him scoring a fine goal as he worked his way through the Stoke defence but Stoke 'keeper Butland, as he did several times in the first half, denied him a farewell goal on home soil.

Despite us having more first half efforts it was Stoke that should have gone into half time one-up when Adam and Walters combined. Walters crossed into Diouf and with the goal at his mercy, and Heaton unlikely to recovery, with him unmarked the striker failed to make a connection needed as he headed wide.

It was Diouf again that could have won it for Stoke in the second half but Heaton made a point-blank save to keep the scores level and, with goalscoring beyond us once more, nil-nil is how it ended.

We go down with our heads held high and were able to take in a well deserved, and appreciated, lap of honour at full time as we move a game closer to the serious work this summer as we look to bounce back.
