'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coyle on Mark Randall

As reported a few moments ago by Vital Burnley, it has been confirmed that 18-year old Gunner, Mark Randall will be joining the Clarets on loan until the end of the season.

The Arsenal midfielder will be given the Number 10 shirt (as vacated by Andy Gray) and goes straight into the squad against West Brom at the Hawthorns this Saturday.

This deal has probably been progressed after the young gunner played against the Clarets recently in the FA Youth Cup scoring the Gunner's second goal in a 5-1 drubbing. The young lad must have impressed the Clarets management team and the deal is also probably related to a continuation in the respect that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger now has for the club after our recent FA Cup Third Round match.

Clarets gaffer, Owen Coyle had this to say about the signing

'I am delighted to bring such a good young talented player to the football club.

He is a tremendous addition for us and I am sure he will go on to have an outstanding career. I hope we can play a big part in his development.

'I am pretty sure he will provide some good competition in the midfield area.

'Mark has been in and around the Arsenal first team and played against Blackburn Rovers in the Carling Cup quarter final.

'We have been watching him for a while and I would like to pass on my thanks to all at Arsenal FC, particularly Liam Brady, who was so helpful in making this move happen.'

Welcome aboard Mark, so thats three new signings so far in this January transfer window but so far all loans. Does Owen Coyle still have a few more surprises before midnight tonight?

Now I feel a bit happier, just wish we could now do something on the permanent signing front instead of loans. At least this one aint 36!! ;-)

Yeah, finally someone young and fresh. This guy will be willing to learn and should give us an edge. Think we're in for a chance now, OC 2 more tonight please.
AccyClaret
Aye come on, Owen one biggy and we will all be dancing in the streets. I know its a loan but get that New Maradona sorted out, I know you can get him really ;-)
turfmanphil
Well if he can't get him, at least one more decent signing will fill the squad a little bit and give us more options.
AccyClaret
Id take Whelan, Riordan or Robson at moment! I cant see why any would be out of our reach, guess its a question of the Canny Scot not wanting to waste a penny over their worth
turfmanphil
I think its more of a shock that Arsenal have an English player to loan out hehe!!! Good luck to him, I like what I've heard about him. Can't help feeling the number 10 shirt was being saved for Carrusca and after the news earlier Mr. Randall has been handed it instead...
SaintClaret
They have a few in the lower ranks, owd Arsenal, one went off on loan to Norwich today,Kieran Gibbs.another young midfielder! Still booger them, lets get one more biggy in before Midnight,Owen!
turfmanphil
Didn't happen though did it, typical Burnley!
AccyClaret
Nope, the Argy deal that wasnt sounds a right mess and it sounds like late efforts to sign Riordan were also rejected by Celtic
turfmanphil
this signing shows we at least had some ambition this window. although a few more plaerys would of ben nice.
tomlaw
We appear to have had ambition, but nowt to show for it really! We have also lets not forget lost our star striker, not that I think we could have held onto him!
