'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coyle says No Kyle Rangers Bid

Speaking to the local Lancashire Telegraph , Owen Coyle said the following

'We have had no bid whatsoever from Rangers for Kyle.'

Rangers` gaffer, Walter Smith missed out on Greek striker Georgios Samaras, who moved to Celtic on loan yesterday and it what thought he would now be turning his attentions to Lafferty with a £4 million bid plus player offer. (See Vital Article-Old Firm battle for Lafferty)

An Old Firm battle looked to be on the cards and could still be despite the denials. Celtic don`t seem to have given up either after having a £3million plus Riordan offer turned down yesterday although they might try to get him in the close season now.

The Buoys Assistant Manager, Tommy Burns is quoted as saying the following:

'I've no insight into the signing policies but I would think that if we can't get Kyle Lafferty now, we might try to get him in the summer or whenever the opportunity comes.'

In many ways this January Transfer window is becoming both a chore and a bore and this Editor for one will be pleased when it finally shuts tomorrow and we can all return to normality!

..and so it goes on! It will be a miracle in my opinion if Lafferty is still playing for us come the start of the 2008/9 season

He's been linked with a move away from Burnley for ages. Surely he'll leave soon!

I think we've got to get used to the fact he'll be leaving sooner rather than later. However he'd be a fool to go north of the border if...sorry... when we're promoted!!!

Think we might just hold out tomorrow, with Celtic now half-admitting they will have another go in close-season and Rangers looking like an unfounded rumour! Depends where we finish I guess,as to where Lafferty finishes up. Cant see him staying if we finish midtable mediocrity but plays-off/promotion to Premier League and it could be a different ballpark
