Coyle's Strongest Signing Hint Yet

Coyle's Strongest Signing Hint Yet

Owen Coyle has been today talking about a possible signing to be completed sometime today and has not ruled out other signings and maybe improved offers.

'I would certainly hope to get closure on that one today, one way or the other, he said

'It has dragged on longer than it should have and I have to say that is through no fault of ours

'It has been frustrating, but we have been patient and respectful of the club involved

Coyle explained: 'I am expecting to hear something back on a couple of things by lunchtime, but we remain actively in pursuit of a few players

'Over the course of the last fortnight we have made bids of over £2million for three or four different players

'Some of those bids are still with the respective clubs and others we have been told we would need to improve those offers, which we haven't done at this point

'We will not be held to ransom because of the January transfer window

Lets hope at long last for some action, we need something positive to talk about in the pubs & clubs around Burnley prior to the Scunny game this Saturday!

He did confess that this so-called imminent signing due for today (not) was the same one he said we had more or less bought last week but had to allow him to play for his current club last Saturday. Also hinted t'other club appeared to putting barriers up hence reason for delay. gawd knows whats going on, could be a late bid by Bristol at last minute and the Riordan deal was almost cut&dried? Did Riordan feature for Celtic last Saturday?

Came off the bench on 17 minutes!!! Seems he was on fire forcing saves and the like!!! If we get this guy we'll be banging goals in!!! He's my number 1 choice! Think he's well worth a million
