'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coyle Recoyles on Rumours

'We have not received bids for any of our players,' said Owen Coyle

'We are looking to strengthen every area of the park and I have spoken to a number of clubs about potential signings.'

It would appear though that Celtic are not one of the clubs contacted by the gaffer following speculation over recent days that we tried to loan striker, Derek Riordan.

The story goes that Bhoys boss Gordon Strachan had refused to loan out his out-of-favour striker slapping a £1 million price-tag on the player.

Coyle however is adamant that he has not approached the Parkhead club about signing Derek Riordan on loan or otherwise.

'I think it's like anything, we're being linked with him because Derek's saying he might be moving on and because I've stated before that I'm a big admirer of him,'

Coyle told the local Lancashire Telegraph:

'I've always liked him as a player since he was a young lad at Hibs.

'But I've not spoken to Gordon about him and I'm not one who speaks about other people's players.

'I imagine people have put two and two together on this one and came up with the wrong answer.

'But we've not made any bid for Derek Riordan.'

However with only one signing,a loan (Stan Varga) so far brought in during the January transfer window and with a spate of supposedly near misses such as Chaplow and Whelan not coming to fruition, the Clarets faithful are getting a little frustrated and impatient.

The statement above about potential signings now needs to start showing a positive outcome to settle the nerves of the Clarets fans, increasingly concerned that all our rivals are bringing high-profile names to their clubs. With now only 21 days left of the January transfer window, we dont want to act like typical Burnley and leave it too late in this era that we are led to believe involves increased Board ambition with money available.

If the said player has not been accosted either by the club or Manager , Stratcham does not show his Gorson's head or other wise he will petrify himself .
