Rumour Mill - Dong Fangzhou

Rumour this evening is that Burnley boss Owen Coyle could be set to take Manchester United's Chinese striker Dong Fangzhou on loan until the end of the season.

Fangzhou represents China at full international level and joined Sir Alex Ferguson's men in 2004 from Dalian Shide, the most successful club team in Chinese football.

After joining the Reds, Dong was sent on loan to United's feeder club, Royal Antwerp, where the big centre forward has managed 34 goals in 70 appearances.

He joined the Old Trafford outfit for £500,000 which may eventually rise to £3,500,000 depending upon appearances in the first team set up. To date Fangzhou has only made a handful of appearances for United, after putting pen to paper on a new deal which will run until 2010.

Dong made his Premiership bow away at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge, partnering retiree Ole Gunnar Solskjaer up front.

Ferguson clearly rates the 22 year-old, describing him as 'speed and physicality'.
