Kevan leaves Clarets for County

Dave Kevan was in the Burnley dug out for the last time at Barnsley today.

He will be taking on a new job at Notts County on Monday morning involving a similar assistant manager role.

Steve Cotterill had this to say

'Dave is leaving us and it's very sad. I have known him for quite a while and it's terrible that the rumour has come out because we (Burnley and Notts County) wanted to announce it on Monday'

Ian McParland the recently appointed manager of Notts County is a close friend of Dave Kevan and the gaffer also said ""I am only answering the question now because I have been asked. But the Notts County manager, Ian McParland, is Dave's best mate and Dave's family are in Nottingham.

"His children are there too and I think in the end that ended up being too big a pull"

Kevan has been Steve Cotterill's right hand man since the gaffer arrived at Turf Moor and will be sadly missed. There will be no immediate replacement with Steve Davis and goalkeeping coach,Phil Hughes helping to shoulder the responsibility on a temporary basis.
