'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Manager Says-Burnley 1-1 Palace

Steve Cotterill said the following about the match and especially the pressure we put the visitors under in the second half

'I thought we battered them in the second half after starting the game sloppily and conceding an early goal.

'The injury to Michael Duff didn't help us, coupled with a few players being off colour.

'But the boys showed good character to try very hard for a winner that, over the 90 minutes, I felt we deserved.

'All the way through the second half we were by far a better team than the one that took the field in the first half, which is the only disappointment.'

The gaffer had plenty to say also about Man of the Match, Robbie Blake

'We probably had one outstanding player. I thought Robbie Blake was immaculate and it was very unfortunate for him that he couldn't conjure up a winner.

'I can remember four quality strikes and if one of them is six inches lower?'

'I just thought he was absolutely faultless. It's amazing what having a baby does and how Robbie hasn't scored the winner for us, I don't know!'

Michael Duff was carried from the field, hobbling in the the first half and Steve is still awaiting news of the injury

He said: 'We don't know how Michael is at the moment. It doesn't look good, but we're just hoping it isn't bad.

'We probably have to wait a bit of time and he will probably go home on crutches. It will more than likely need a scan to assess that one.'

Oh no thats all we need! Lets hope this is not as bad as it sounds

I must be really worried then with the club in 7th place only five points behind the leaders with a game in hand? Look all teams have less than impressive days, its what counts over a season-long campaign that matters
