'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Manager Says-Bristol C 2-2 Burnley

The gaffer had this to say after an amazing match with a last minute stunning equaliser by Clarke Carlisle:

'It's a great point for us really because they were better than us today.

'There will be a lot of sides buckle here when their crowd get up for it, so to go 2-1 down in the 86th minute, our players deserve a massive amount of credit for coming back and getting a draw.

'It looked like our third game in a week, albeit I know it's theirs. But with a couple of away games it's more difficult and we didn't look as hungry as we did the other night at Sheffield Wednesday.

'All in all we are pleased with the point because we thought it would be a fantastic return to get four points from the two away games.'

Steve Cotterill also singled out Clarke Carlisle for some special praise:

'Clarke came in at half time and swiftly gave me an apology, which was a good decision because otherwise we might have wasted a bit of half time.

'I think he has been fantastic since he has been here, however in the first 10 minutes today I would like to have taken him off.

'In the end though it was a fantastic goal and I am delighted for him.'

The gaffer also had some good words to say about Andy Gray, the scorer of our first goal after 51 minutes.

'I thought Andy was fantastic because he shouldn't have played today.

'His foot was swollen up massively and he shouldn't have pulled his socks and boots on, so the commitment he showed going on the pitch alone was enough.

'He was desperate too play and he got his rewards with the goal.'
