Clarets eye up Internationals

It may be a rest for the Clarets fans and a number of the squad with no match this Saturday but Burnley have five players on international duty this weekend and all the players have now met up with their respective National team mates.

One new International player recently added to our ranks is former Preston captain, Graham Alexander. The right back has been selected for the Scotland squad. The Jocks are at home to Lithuania on Saturday and then away to France

Michael Duff, Kyle Lafferty and Steve Jones are named in the Northern Ireland squad and Nigel Worthington's men have a crucial Group F European qualifying away match against Latvia on Saturday to be followed by Iceland on September 12.

Midfielder and Icelandic International, Joey Gudjonsson will probably be lining up against his club colleagues in that match

Besart Berisha was also called up to the Albania squad but he has had to pull out because of injury sustained in Albania's last International match recently against Malta. He will therefore miss the home match against Holland in Group G
