Plymouth Trialling Paul McVeigh

Plymouth Argyle are to give a trial to former Clarets loan striker Paul McVeigh.

Paul was a very popular figure during his stay at Turf Moor last season with many hoping that maybe Steve Cotterill could sign the former Norwich player on a permanent basis. He was instumental in assuring that we finally ended our 19 match winless streak and started to get the points on the table again. He got a few goals himself as well as making a few assists and could conveniently play behind the frontmen or on the wing giving Steve Cotterill more tactical options. McVeigh, 29, was released by Norwich at the end of last season, having made 215 League appearances for the Canaries.

McVeigh will arrive at Home Park this Tuesday according to Plymouth Vital hoping to impress manager Ian Holloway and his coaching staff. The Pilgrims boss said: "He's an honest, hard-working lad, who might do a dual role if we have injuries, and I want to have a good look at him." Paul McVeigh will also play against Bristol Rovers on Saturday August 4th, Argyle's only home game of the pre-season schedule

Good luck Paul!
