'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kiraly's former coach is gutted!

The Crystal Palace goalkeeping coach,Tony Burns is glowing in his praise today for our new Hungarian keeper, Gabor Kiraly. It would appear Tony might be a betting man and seems certain Kiraly will have success with the Clarets.

He also appears to be rather upset that the 31-year-old international has left the Eagles.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph Sport he is quoted as saying

'I'm very disappointed. As a goalkeeping coach, I would have liked to have seen him stay.

'He's a massive bargain. He did a great job at Crystal Palace and I know there are a lot of people here who are sad to see him leave.

'He's one we will definitely miss.'

This is all rather interesting, and the Clarets might get the chance to see Gabor's potential at the Accy friendly this Saturday!

We shall have to see whether 'The Beast' has any say in this matter and whether he can convince Steve Cotterill that he should be the Number One keeper choice. Brian Jensen probably came off best over the last two seasons in the friendly battle with Danny Coyne (who has since departed for Tranmere)

Danny was not helped by two serious injuries; one to his cruciate ligament. This gave Brian the chance to perform and he has done so admirably despite a mid-season wobble that saw him transfer listed after complaining about being dropped in favour of loan Wigan keeper, Pollitt.

Now reinstated, we shall have to see how he reacts should Kiraly become the first choice keeper.

One thing is certain, 'The Beast' does have better dress sense and I suspect many Clarets remain to be convinced about the adornment of 'pants' by the Hungarian keeper during games!
