Steve Cotterill revealed that he had another transfer target in mind that he hoped would come to fruition. No names were mentioned although the player would appear to be available on a Bosman.
He is quoted as saying the following whilst indicating things were rather slow on the transfer front:
'I'm probably only waiting on one player coming back to me at the moment really, and that is a free transfer.'
Its quite clear that the transfer market in the UK is releatively quiet and Steve Cotterill speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph had this to say:
'Those on free transfers are not wanting to commit themselves at this moment in time.
'I could see it happening this year. I don't just wait until the end of the season then see who's out there. I look into it quite early to find out what's going to be available.
'I knew this year there was going to be four or five clubs after the same players.
'It's almost turned full circle because being a free transfer wasn't so popular a couple of years ago. But now, if you're a good player, there's a great chance of four or five clubs are watching you, the wages up the ante and it becomes more difficult.'
Steve Cotterill also revealed he would be off to Sunny Spain next week on a Busman's (or is it Bosman's?) Holiday!
'I'm in Spain, where there are three trial games going on.'
Quite clearly hoping there is more movement on potential transfers out there!
Its seems we have the money for significant transfers thanks mainly to Brendan Flood but keep getting knock-backs in what seems to be a generally slow market in anycase. Some reports suggest we might have a £10 million war chest and I am sure all Clarets fans will be keen to quickly add to the one-and-a-half players brought in so far-Kiraly and Berisha (subject to work permit approval)
