Burnley EX News: Graham Coughlan

The Vital Plymouth Argyle site reports that their former defender Graham Coughlan could be on his way to Swindon Town to link up once again with Paul Sturrock.

Graham spent a short time with the Clarets on loan from the Owls at the end of last season but hardly featured and spent most of the time on the bench. He was originally brought to the Turf when we had a back four crisis with injuries to Duff, McGreal, Thomas and Caldwell but that situation quickly resolved itself and Graham found himself unable to get selected in the starting eleven.

The 32-year old struggled to win a regular first team place last season for Sheffield Wednesday and has now been placed on the transfer list.

Graham is quoted as follows 'Sheffield Wednesday have said I can go and I am not surprised there have been rumours about me linking up with Paul Sturrock, after all we do have history.

'I have just got back in the country though and so at the moment I really have no clue about where I will be playing next season.

'But I am not going to rule out a move to Swindon because I know what it is like playing with Paul Sturrock and know he has the ability to produce successful teams.

'If there is interest from Swindon then I certainly will listen and who knows what might happen.'

Coughlan continued: 'I'm sure there are people who think just avoiding relegation with Swindon this season will be a good campaign, after all they have only just gone up.

'But I can assure everyone that, as long as he gets the right backing, Paul Sturrock will be looking at the other end of the table.

'I know you have to crawl before you can walk but the burning ambition and desire he has for success is not going to go away.'

Good luck Graham, wherever you end up
