Ade Bid Rejected

Warnock has finally submitted an undisclosed bid for the Clarets hitman, but the bid has been swiftly refused.

Akinbiyi, who rejected a move to Bramall Lane last year, in favour of a move to the Clarets is top of the promotion hopefuls shortlist, with Warnock clearly still keen on the striker.

Clarets Chairman Barry Kilby told Burnley's official website: ''Sheffield United made an offer for Ade that we have turned down,'

'I don't want to talk figures, but they didn't meet our valuation of the player and that's where we stand at the moment.'

Burnley must now await developments, and see if the Blades make an increased offer for the player.
