'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tit Bits from Burnley FC

OK in no particular order here we go:

1.Clarets, Manchester-born, apprentice Ashley Young has left Turf Moor by mutual consent.

Young according to the Offical Burnley FC site is set to sign a second year apprenticeship with Bury after completing his first year with the Clarets.

Ashley was also a member of the Burnley team that won the Lancashire FA Youth Cup in 2006.

2. Premiership Pledge still viable.

The Club have reminded supporters of the 'Premiership Pledge', which applies to all season tickets bought for the 2007/08 season.

The pioneering offer is to be able to watch Premiership football toatlly free at Turf Moor if the club is promoted at the end of the 2007/08 campaign.

Fans buying a season ticket before the start of 2007/8 will automatically qualify for a free season ticket, should the club achieve its intended, ambitious target of reaching the top flight of English footy!

3. We have a new Shirt Sponsor!!

The club have announced that local Baxenden compan, Holland's Pies will be the official shirt sponsor for the next two years until 2009.

Holland's, the North West's famous pie manufacturer, has agreed to have their company name on all Clarets shirts and training gear for the next two years. The sponsorship is understood to be a club record for a six-figure sum

Chairman Barry Kilby said: 'We are delighted to announce this partnership with Holland's Pies.

'We feel is it important to build partnerships with local companies and, like Burney Football Club, Holland's has a long and illustrious history in their own field.

'I would like to think we are both brands that people can trust and following this announcement, we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Holland's.'

4.About that new kit?

The home kit for 2007/8 will be revealed by the club on Monday 4th June. They have provided a tantalising glimpse of what the home shirt might look like on the Official site with the shirt sporting a special 125 year crest and what looks like a flash of yellow here and there on the basic Claret&Blue shirt! Some debate as to whether the sleeves will be blue or claret!

The shirt, which will continue to be manufactured by Errea is about to be unveiled on the Official Burnley FC website from midday.

Pre-orders will then be available immediately from the club shop or via online ordering.
