Burnley Rumours-Wayne Thomas

Burnley Rumours-Wayne Thomas

Is Wayne Thomas about to be sent to Coventry? Literally this time?

According to the 'Coventry Telegraph', Wayne Thomas is the latest player to be linked with a Coventry move.

It is understood, Sky Blues gaffer Iain Dowie could put in a £200,000 bid for the 28-year-old.

Wayne Thomas was signed by Steve Cotterill from Stoke in the summer of 2005.

In 35 first-team appearances for the Clarets last season, our former Captain picked up two red and four yellow cards.

The red cards notably the one against Southampton last season at Turf Moor did not endear himself to the Clarets fans but since relinquishing the captaincy, the defender has been both excellent in defence and in the discipline department

Towards the end of the season, he seemed to have gained back the respect of the Clarets fans becoming a solid member of the back-four and there will be a few regrets now should this rumour of a move come to fruition!
