'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All Attention to the League

Being knocked out of the FA Cup is without doubt a blow. The financial implications of an early exit from the cup are hard to deal with. The glamour ties against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Blackburn do a lot for the clubs outside the top tier of English football, and the passion of cup football has been shelved for another 12 months is hard to come to terms with.

On the plus side, however, is Burnley's current position in the league. Just shy of the playoff places, all attentions can now be focused solely on the league campaign.

The Clarets have performed brilliantly so far this season, and are currently punching at the weight of one-time Premiership clubs Wolves, Southampton and Leeds United, showing just how good a job Steve Cotterill has done since his appointment.

Of those clubs, Wolves and Southampton are still to visit Turf Moor, as well as Reading and Preston to name a few, meaning that Burnley have their fate in their own hands, without added distractions, meaning that they can give the playoffs their best possible shot.

One things for sure, its going to be an exciting couple of months at Turf Moor.
