'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Shakes for Stan!

The media have announced today that Stan Ternent will not afterall be taking up a short-term contract to help out Chris Casper at Bury. This was reported as a possibility by the Bury Times yesterday

The former Clarets and Bury manager is reported as saying the following:

'Bury is a club I hold very dear to my heart. I am the most successful manager they have ever had and they mean a great deal to me,'

'If there is anything I could do to help them, I would. But if I were to come in at this stage of the season with seven games to go - I'm afraid it would do nothing but upset the apple cart.

'Chris Casper is a bright young manager who is making his way in the game. For me to come in at this stage; I have only seen the team play once or twice in the last few years, would do nothing at all.

'I'm sorry if any of this has affected the players or staff at Bury - and I wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.'

Stan Ternent has not been on the managerial scene or involved with football since he left Gillingham in May 2005.
