Jones to start at Windsor Park?

The Euro 2008 International competition continues tonight and Steve Jones will be wondering if he will be selected to start for Northern Ireland against group leaders,Sweden at Windsor Park.

The match kicks off at 7:45 pm.

Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez has to make one enforced change for the match.

Keith Gillespie is suspended so one option might be to bring in Steve Jones as a direct replacement for the winger. Other players however may be preferred in the role including Ivan Sproule.Grant McCann could also come into the midfield with Damien Johnson moving to occupy the right of midfield.

Steve Jones has been unlucky in recent times with injury and more often than not has been named on the bench for Northern Ireland. He came on for the last seven minutes in the last Euro 2008 match against Liechtenstein at the weekend. He replaced hat-trick man David Healy as Northern Ireland trounced the minnows 4-1 in Vaduz.

Hopefully he might be given longer to shine in this match and we wish him all the luck.

Steve will hopefully at least feature in the match and join fellow Clarets, Kyle Lafferty and Michael Duff. All three will be hoping to pick up additional caps and also be in the starting eleven.

Our fourth International player, Danny Coyne could also feature for Wales in their Euro 2008 qualifier with San Marino in Cardiff tonight (Wednesday 28th March @ 8pm KO)

Sadly only Duff started for Northern Ireland, Lafferty came on late from the bench after 79 minutes and Jones was on the bench and didnt feature. Coyne played in goal for Wales
