'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Laws about Coughlan!

Former Clarets player and current Sheffield Wednesday manager,Brian Laws has been giving the lowdown on our new loan central defender, Graham Coughlan.

He is reported in the media as saying the following:

'Graham Coughlan is what I would describe as an old-fashioned centre half.

'He would go through a brick wall for the team, he organises well and is very good in both boxes at heading the ball.

'He's got a vast amount of experience that I'm sure can help Burnley.

'Graham's a good communicator and good in the dressing room.

'Steve Cotterill's been a long-time admirer of his as well and hopefully this might be a turning point for Burnley.

'Graham has been through an horrendous time. He's had a family bereavement in really extreme circumstances and lost his younger brother,'

'He just wants to get his head down and play football.

'The fact that our two centre halves have put a partnership together and done really well has been difficult for him to get back in the side.

'He is at that stage though where he wants to play and it will be a good move for him as well.

'He will certainly bring the know-how and experience to help the younger players.

'I'm sure he will be a real, positive asset to Burnley between now and the end of the season.'
