The Offical Site has just announced that we have signed Coughlan on loan until the end of the season.
They have stated
'Burnley today bolstered their injury-ravaged defence with a deadline day swoop for Sheffield Wednesday's Graham Coughlan.
Clarets boss Steve Cotterill was forced to sign the vastly experienced 32-year-old on loan until the end of the season after only having one fit defender at the club this week.'
The 32-year old Irishman started his playing career at Leinster Senior League side Cherry Orchard F.C. Coughlan (also known as Cocko)then moved briefly to Bray Wanderers, a Football League of Ireland club . At 21 he was brought to England by then Blackburn manager Ray Harford but struggled to earn a place in the Premier League Champions' first team.
During his spell at Rovers he had loan spells at Swindon and Livingston before making a permanent move to the Scottish club in the Summer of 1999.
He had two successful seasons at Livingston before moving back to England signing for Plymouth Argyle. There followed a highly successful four year spell at the club with Plymouth earning two promotions and Coughlan regularly on the team sheet.
In Summer 2005 he was reunited with former manager Paul Sturrock when he signed for newly-promoted Sheffield Wednesday.
Graham proved to be popular to both fans and management alike in his first season earning a regular place in the team. He also had a spell as Captain when Lee Bullen's injury problems regularly kept him out of the team.
Graham Coughlan was named Sheffield Wednesday Player of the Year 2005/06. It is the fifth time Graham has won such an award, having previously being named Player of the Year twice at Livingston and twice at Plymouth Argyle.
Welcome aboard Graham!
