'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Turf Tit Bits

Our former player & manager Adrian 'Inchy' Heath has not had a good weekend. The caretaker manager at Coventry who took over from Micky Adams earlier this year saw his team fall to Leicester 3-0 and he was then told he was sacked. The news then followed,as expected that the new manager at the Ricoh would be former Palace manager, Ian Dowie.

Former Arsenal & Clarets utility player, Danny Karbassiyoon who left our club by mutual consent in the Summer of 2006 received some tragic news in America this week.Danny has sadly been forced to retire from the game through a persistent knee injury. The player ,only 22 was told by doctors he faced risking permanent damage to his knee that could affect him badly later in life. He made six substitutes appearances for the Clarets after joining from Arsenal in June 2005. For most of his time at Turf Moor he was plagued with the injury that would ultimately force him to retire from football at such a young age.Danny now hopes to return to studies back home in Virginia. Everybody at Vital Burnley FC wishes him all the best for the future.

Our Youth Team lost 5-1 away to Preston North End last Wednesday morning in the Pontin's League game

Midfielder Connor Smith halved the deficit in the first half after going two goals behind but Preston restored their two goal advantage before half time. The agony was then prolonged as the opposition got two further goals in the second half

Youth Team coach Terry Pashley said:

'Unfortunately, we paid for a poor first half performance.

'We managed to get a foothold, but in the second half two crosses led to goals and that is something we have to improve on.'
