Get Our Heads Together And Go Again
Burnley skipper Ben Mee has said the side will dust themselves off from defeat to Swansea City this weekend and we'll be ready to go again in the next fixture.
Heading to the Liberty Stadium and the weekend for the latest Premier League action, Burnley lost our one nil to a late goal from Ki Sung-Yeung but it's far from a catastrophe as manager Sean Dyche himself admitted it was probably one game too far given the injuries we've had to contend with and players who are fit, having little time for a break.
Speaking to the Official Site himself, Mee was largely on board with that and in some ways he felt we were unlucky as our efforts were worthy of a point on the day, but it wasn't to be.
With a two week break now, Mee knew it was well timed and with a trip to Portugal on the cards he knew the players would return refreshed and rested and not only would we have put the game behind us, the focus will be on getting back to winning ways after so many draws of late.
'It`s hard to look at the bigger picture straight after the game. We were disappointed with the result today and that will be on our minds for a little while. But we have to get it out of our system and go again and look at that bigger picture and take some confidence from that. Maybe a change of scene will be good for the boys and we`ll hopefully get a few of the lads back from injury. We`ll get our heads together again and have a good week in training and we`ll look to get going again. We`ll have a positive attitude, hopefully a good break we`ll look to come out all guns firing.'
The defeat was of course only our fourth loss on our travels so far this season and the result still leaves us sitting in seventh place.
'It was always going to be tight and I had the feeling one goal was going to win the game. We were reasonably solid for most of the game but perhaps we just couldn`t get enough going the other way. We felt like we were comfortable in the first half and saw most of their attacks out. But we need to create chances and put those away and we couldn`t really get them today. A couple of their subs came on and were lively and everyone wanted to impress and do well. They went for the win and fair play to them. But we`re disappointed to concede late on.'
