Taylor Made To Live With Premier League Class
With ten straight games under his belt for Burnley, Charlie Taylor knows he passed his toughest test yet as we faced off against Manchester City last weekend.
Increasing his own top flight experience as he plugs the left back gap with Stephen Ward sidelined with injury, Taylor won more friends as he battled against Bernardo Silva in our one all draw with the champions elect and no surprise to hear him say he's enjoying his life at the minute.
Speaking to the Official Site this week with Dyche preparing the squad for their next challenge, Taylor admitted that it had taken him some time to get to grips with things in the division, but he felt he was now 'finding his feet' and showing that he could play at this level.
The 24 year old left back explained.
'It`s the best league in the world and it`s going to take some time to get used to, but I`m finding my feet now. It`s not easy. You`re up against a world-class winger every week. There`s never an easy game but it`s where you want to be and what you want to be doing every week.'
Dealing the Bernardo of City's Silva's, he admitted it was 'defend for your lives' at points, but he was also pleased he was able to venture up the pitch at points.
'To keep it only to one goal and to be so solid was testament to us all. Everyone performed brilliantly, especially in the second half. We were probably the dominant side and more than matched the league leaders. It felt as though something was coming. The crowd got behind us and there was a lot of momentum.'
With Burnley's spirit well known, he went on to say tellingly.
'It speaks about the whole team and the character shown, to never stop, and we got the rewards. I think we were unlucky against Manchester United and conceded last minute against Liverpool when we could have got something out of it. Again, we showed what we`re about and finally we got our just rewards.'
Long may his own development continue as he continues to prove he was an astute buy.
