Dyche On Burnley's One Club Mentality

Dyche On Burnley's One Club Mentality

Fresh from signing his new four and a half year deal at Burnley, Sean Dyche has paid tribute to the 'one club mentality' that envelopes everyone involved at Turf Moor.

With speculation about his future once again given his success at the club, the fact he is now with us until 2022, Dyche said that the role the town and supporters have played in that success has led him to realise what he has at the club.

Speaking to the Official Site Dyche also explained that the immediate and ongoing aim was to truly establish the club as a 'recognised' Premier League team and he knew how well we had done so far this season on that front.

'When I arrived here five years ago, was I envisaging my part in the club getting stronger? Yes. Was I envisaging all that`s been achieved so far, then no. But that`s been achieved by many different people heading in the right way and that`s been the key. The town play a part in that, not just the fans, because I know some people can`t get to every game.'

Dyche went on to say.

'But I`ve come to realise what it means to be here, as a part of fabric of the Burnley community. When you get all those people pointing in the right direction, along with good guidance from the board, good staff and good players and you have a real foundation for continued success. It`s a great platform to continue building this football club.'

With the aim being Premier League security and the challenges that brings for a club of our side given the riches of others, he knew it was about continually taking small steps.

'Realistically now, we have to look to continue building to become, in theory, a recognised Premier League club. It`s not easy for starters and we know the challenges that are right in front of us, but equally that is a big marker. Look where we were a short time ago, relatively speaking, to where we are now. Can we keep adding layers to the team and the support team, who will in turn grow to become the next players? We`ll see, but I`m certainly open-minded about where the club can go.'

Great to see his head wasn't turned by the earlier speculation and he appears more invested now than the day he first walked though the door, so whilst there will be choppy times ahead, keep focusing on those small steps without the overreaction that seems to rule the game thesedays.

Only one thing nags me. Why has he not moved here. He obviously has his reasons, his family do not want to move, he does not see his tenure here lasting. Whatever the reason I would be happier if he and his family lived close by. UTC.

That always use to be expected with Managers and even players. But things have changed. He does live in the area up to 6 days a week i understand but its not his home. He has teenage kids they have to be taken into consideration. Remember Eddies Wife She didnt want to live up North in Burnley. He has managed to do what he does for 5 years Cornwall, so he will do the same for another 4 or 5 years. As long as he stays the Burnley Manager we have to be happy with that.

It must be hard on Sean to be away from his family all that time, Of which I was not aware. But thanks for your considered comments Grimsby and long may Sean stay and prosper with BFC, UTC.
