Dyche Signs Burnley Extension

Dyche Signs Burnley Extension

Burnley have today confirmed that manager Sean Dyche has penned a new deal at the club keeping him with us until 2022.

The extension applies to the manager and his backroom team ensuring continuity in the year's ahead given his success and growth with us since joining back in October 2022.

Speaking to the Official Site with the deals signed, Dyche explained.

'I am quite young in management terms. I am still learning and still improving, I believe, so for my personal reasons, as well, I think it`s the right place to be. It`s a very good environment and I enjoy it and I enjoy the connection I`ve had with this area. I think we are still moving forwards as a club and that`s important and also I`m aware of some of the challenges. The reality of the club gives me, my staff and the players a good workplace. It`s an honest club, it`s healthy and everyone is on the same page and I have really enjoyed that.'

Dyche went on to say.

'I look around football and it`s hard to find and it`s hard to build. We`ve built it and found it, probably in equal measure, and I enjoy that side of it. There`s lots of work to be done, but I`m definitely 'in` for the work to be done.'

The terms of the new deal would make Dyche our longest serving manager since Harry Potts.

Burnley chairman Mike Garlick said he believed that tying Dyche and his backroom team down for longer was the 'signing of the window' as far as he was concerned.

'We`ve had a great season so far and with that always comes speculation about clubs being interested in your manager. Hopefully, again what we`re doing today means we can plan for the future and there`s a big 'keep-off sign there` with a four-and-a-half-year contract.'

Having led us to two promotions into the Premier League and our current league position being our highest since back in 1975, Garlick was hoping to see the club continue to build now on and off the pitch as we look to really establish ourselves in the top flight.

'Hopefully it`s the signing of the window, or certainly the extension of the window. I think it`s a deal that suits the manager, it suits me as the chairman and the board and, most importantly, suits the club. One thing we have always wanted is a stable club, and Sean signing the contract today means we can build and plan for the future. I think if you can do that, you`ve got a far better chance of success. And - by the way - he has earned it.'

This is the best News we could hope for. Gives us stability and we keep the best Burnley Manager since Harry Potts.

Agreed 100% Grimsby. The best Burnley team I ever watched were the exiting team of the early sixties. Can we hope for a repeat? I think it is possible. Come on you Clarets.

Would have loved to have watched that Team. I started going to Turf Moor in 1967 so just missed seeing the Legends of the Champions of England.
