Dyche Has Brady Concerns

Dyche Has Brady Concerns

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has said that he fears the injury sustained by Robbie Brady could be a serious one.

The winger looked like he took a serious knock as he slid into Harry Maguire after over running the ball in the one nil defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium this weekend and having been stretchered off and rushed to hospital for a full assessment, Dyche admitted he feared the worst.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, the gaffer explained that he was still waiting for a proper update.

'It looks more serious than not serious to me; that`s all I can say. He`s gone off to hospital, so we need to find out more before I can give the full facts. It`s a blow because Robbie has been excellent lately. Some of his deliveries today were excellent and he`s settled into the team nicely.'

Dyche went on to say.

'He`s a good character in the group and he`s been building with his performances. Today he started fantastically well, so it`s a real knock for him and us and hopefully we`ll find out more details soon. But we`ve had knocks like this before, so we`ll rethink things and move forwards.'

Reflecting on the game itself, Dyche was pleased with the first half showing and he knew in some ways were were a touch unlucky with the opposition taking the lead so early in the game.

'Overall, I was quite pleased, particularly with the first half, when we were very productive and quite dominant. We responded really well from a poor goal, from our point of view and it`s not easy to come away in the Premier League and have as much play as we did. We took the game on and we were productive and arguably could have come in one each.'

Dyche knew the game didn't turn that way for us though with the equiliser.

'We didn`t and that played into their favour in the second half. They thrive on the game it became in the second half because they love to play on the counter. But I was so pleased with the physicality because that was virtually the same group playing three games in six days. The will and desire to keep going all the way down the game and keep creating chances was there for all to see, so I`m pleased with many things and just not the result.'

Losing Brady through serious injury is more upsetting than losing the game. Because as we have seen in recent games Brady has been playing his best football since joining us. He was on fire again on Saturday whipping in crosses and looking our best player. He is going to be missed big time. Just hoping its not for the rest of the season.

Agreed GC. This is when the big money comes in, he would simply be replaced with another international. The fair play system so far seems to be to the disadvantage of the smaller clubs. The penalties issued so far seem to bear this out. Hopefully if it is bad SD can pluck another ace out of the hat. Come on you Clarets.

Just read on official site “Robbie will have surgery to repair a patellar tendon tear and will be out for a substantial recovery period. Cant believe i wont see him play again this season.
