Dyche - We Deserved Everton Win

Dyche - We Deserved Everton Win

Manager Sean Dyche has said that the right side took all three points when Burnley faced Everton this weekend.

Heading to Goodison Park for the game, a Jeff Hendrick goal in the 21st minute returned all three points for Burnley and it was our first reunion with Michael Keane following his summer's switch.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media following the game, Dyche was delighted with our play in the build up to the goal but also how well we defended on the game.

The match marked our first win on their soil since 1976 and it was Dyche's 100th league win as manager.

'We have spoken about how we can move forward and that was a great example of that. I don`t know how many passes it was, but it is a tremendous goal following a fantastic crossfield pass from Robbie Brady. We are not remotely trying to make out we are the real deal, but the questions is can you fight it out when you need to and can you be effective when you play.'

Dyche went on to say.

'We can play and it`s finding that balance. And there was a lot of that on show today, along with some real muck and nettles defending and good shape, so I am very, very pleased. The side is developing and I just told the players I`m delighted with the mentality. It`s difficult in the Premier League anyway, but it`s difficult to come to these places and piecing everything together to deliver a performance.'

With a tension inside of Goodison with Everton only registering one win all season so far, Dyche felt we coped with that well and subdued them nicely before we got the advantage.

'There is a bit of noise around here at the moment, but they are still a very good set of players and you have to be on your guard. We just keep edging it forwards and I feel we did that again today. I thought we absorbed the second half well. It`s not easy. You are 1-0 up and you have to do the basics well and I felt we did that.'

Great game and deserved result. Tremendous defending and a sublime goal. It is hard to criticize after such a result but our passing does need to be sharpened up. Come on you Clarets a Champions League spot is just a couple of points away !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree on the passing except for that great goal.Still need to give Wood better service. What we also need is a bit more pace out wide and faster delivery.Dyche has done a fantastic job & we will do well to keep him.A top 10 finish in the Premier this year should be our aim.Looking forward to seeing Wells in action & a return to fitness for Deano. The Hammers up next and we owe them a beating.Onwards & Upwards.UTC.
