Toons in a Cup Match Afterall?

There was some expectation that we might beat Reading in the FA Cup Third Round and then face a trip to Newcastle if they beat Birmingham! We all know that never happened with both Newcastle and the Clarets being defeated.

Oh well there might still be a chance we could play the Toons in a Cup match but this time its the young lads turn in the FA Youth Cup.

Before that though we have to face Swindon in the 5th round next Wednesday at the County Ground.

SWINDON TOWN vs BURNLEY

FA YOUTH CUP FIFTH ROUND

WEDNESDAY 31ST JANUARY 2006, KO 7PM

TICKET PRICES £3 ADULT, £1 CONCESSION

The full 6th round draw was as follows:

Swindon or Burnley v Newcastle or Millwall

Arsenal or Bristol City v Cardiff or Sunderland

Manchester United or Crystal Palace v Barnsley or Birmingham

Sheffield United or Middlesbrough v Liverpool or Reading.

Newcastle play Millwall at St James Park a week on Saturday on the 3rd February, so we will either be waiting with anticipation for the result or down the pub getting sozzled. Some I suppose might be doing both even if we beat Swindon.

These are busy times for the young lads, Saturday morning tomorrow they commence their defence of the Lancashire FA Youth Cup against Bury at Gawthorpe.

Lets hope we get through to play the Toons afterall whilst despatching both Bury and Swindon in the mean time
