The Rumour Mill- Spicer & Co

It is reported on at least one major Footy network website today that John Spicer may well be loaned out to Crewe for a month.

Spicer has found limited opportunity to feature this season and with two new midfielders to date coming on board ie Joey Gudjonsson and Eric Djembe-Djembe, its possible he might have found it even more difficult to break into the team on a regular basis.

This could therefore be a good move for all concerned and allow John Spicer to play a few competitive games more than he would have done for the Clarets over this monthly period.

Spicer probably played his best games for the Clarets when Ade Akinbiyi Mark 1 was in the team last season. He seemed to link up well with Ade and it will be interesting to see if that relationship with Ade Mark 2 can be re-established. Looks like that might have to be put on ice for the time being.

Rumours continue to persist that Graham Branch may well also go out on loan to Accrington Stanley with some suggestion that out of favour midfielder, Garreth O'Connor may well be joining him on loan for the Reds.

Those rumours carry the normal health warning though and as far as I am aware nothing has been mentioned to this effect in website articles or in the general media.

Spicer now looks official after this statement on Official Site:Crewe Move For Spicer? Burnley midfielder John Spicer is considering a loan move to League One side Crewe Alexandra. Alex boss Dario Gradi has enquired about the availability of Spicer, who has made two substitute appearances for the Clarets this season. Burnley manager Steve Cotterill confirmed on Friday: "We spoke to Crewe this morning and said that we would allow John to go there on a one-month loan. "John now wants the weekend to think about it."
