Heaton Looks For Big Finish
England goalkeeper Tom Heaton has said that the spirit in the Burnley camp remains high and all the players are looking for a strong finish to the 2016/17 campaign.
With Burnley not securing a win in the last five Premier League games, Heaton told the Official Site as he met with the press ahead of the Sunderland clash this weekend, that confidence hadn't been dented and the players were looking to try and push ourselves further up the table.
'We've put ourselves in a good position but there's a long way to go. There are 10 games left and it's important we go and kick on from here. There's no patting anyone on the back here. There's a lot of work still to be done and we are embracing the journey. We want to see where we can go. There's no resting on any laurels or anything like that. We are trying to step on and keep moving up that table.'
With bottom placed Sunderland only having one once since mid December, Heaton knows it won't be an easy game but it is certainly an opportunity to break our away day form this campaign.
'Obviously we are trying to get that win away from home. But the performances have been much better of late. We have probably been on the wrong side of a few fine margins but there's certainly no loss of belief or confidence at all. We are going about it the right way. We have a lot of confidence that if we keep putting performances in and keep nudging those forward then a result is just around the corner. Hopefully it will be this weekend.'
With a number of tough away fixtures still to deal with before the end of the season, Sunderland is certainly an opportunity to take a valuable three points and really boost confidence going into the final matches of the year.
