Steve Cotterill is quoted as saying the following about yesterday's match against Southampton at St Mary's which finished 0-0
'It is an excellent point.
'Southampton have formidable home form and I thought the defence and even the boys in front of them worked hard for their clean sheet.
'We haven't had enough clean sheets this season and we came here to try to get one.
'We knew it was going to be a tough game and two or three weeks ago we would have got beaten here.
'So this is a little upturn in our fortunes and we just have to make sure now that in the next couple of home games we do our best to go and try to get maximum points.
'This is a very good point, but if we don't go and take it on it's not such a good point.'
Steve also had the following to say about our new loans, Mike Pollitt and Eric Djembe-Djembe who were both given their full Burnley debuts in this match:
'You don't quite know, when you take a player of Eric's stature, how he is going to be.
'He hasn't played all season and before the game we were discussing whether he had the last half hour or the last 45 minutes.
'In the end he ended up playing 90 and the first thing he said when he came off was 'gaffer? 90 minutes?'
'We had a bit of a laugh about it, but to be fair he and Mike Pollitt have come in and been first class.
'They have both settled in well and they had to perform the ritual of a song for the rest of the lads at tea-time on Friday.'
All this sounds very positive and we seem to have been awarded with a deserved well-earned point. But what do you think both about the result and Steve's comments? We would be particulatly interested in the views of those that went to this match.
