The Rumour Mill- Gary Teale

The latest player linked with a move to Turf Moor is former Ayr man, and current Latics winger Gary Teale.

The wideman has made just seven starts for Paul Jewell's side this season, and the Clarets and Preston are believed to be in the hunt for his services.

It is believed that a reasonable offer would persuade Wigan to part with Teale, and a switch across Lancashire could well be on the cards.

Longsider Kev posted this on Longside ''A reliable source from Wigan (the guy who told me about Alan Mahon) has told me that Preston, Burnley and Stoke have made enquiries about their winger Gary Teale.'' Looks like Stoke as well then?

It would appear after some reading that Teale would be a good prospect down the right hand wing, pacey and able to run at the defence providing pin-point crosses into the box - a bit light S Jones down the left wing. If the Clarets were able to sign Gary Teale, then Akinbiyi and Gray (once fit again) would have more consistent service of crosses from both sides of the pitch. Fingers crossed, if we have the cash, Cotterill can get this one!

I suppose if we were in a similar League position, these players may have opted for us. Apprantly now, Derby have closed the deal, see link below; http://www.yeoldetreeandcrown.34sp.com/wigan-athletic-news-11.01.07d.htm
