'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Burnley Manager's Delight at Victory

Burnley Manager Steve Cotterill was thrilled with the perfmance following the 4-1 win over high-flying Watford at Turf Moor.

The Clarets bounced back in style after last weekend's defeat at Sheffield United, turning over a Watford side with a strong away record this season.

'I thought the lads thoroughly deserved their win today', Cotterill enthused.

'It was very pleasing on the back of last week, because we felt we needed to put a performance in today and we felt a performance would get us a result.'

There was further good news for the Clarets, with Wayne Thomas making a brief appearance as a substitute. He made his first appearance since a shocking knee injury, which was initially expected to keep him out for the remainder of the season.

'We're delighted with that, but we didn't want to give him too long because we don't know how long he's got in him at the moment.' said Cotterill.

The Clarets next match is another big encounter, facing fifth placed Stoke at Turf Moor on Boxing Day, as the race for the playoffs hots up.
