Dyche - We Never Give Up
Manager Sean Dyche has hailed the boys for their never say die attitude following today's one all draw with Leeds United.
With our hosts on the opening day of the Championship season taking the late lead on 83 minutes, Dyche told the Official Site that he was incredibly proud of the team for not letting the goal affect them, and for getting themselves a point on the day three minutes after going behind.
'I thought our resilience showed well and that never-say-die attitude was there again. We never go down; this team never goes under. We believe we are never beaten until the final whistle blows and I believe that showed in abundance again today. We have built that mentality over two and a half years here and if you looked at the last 10 minutes again, in response to the goal, there`s no heads going down; they just get on with it. I`m very proud of that as a manager, for my team and, of course, for the fans.'
Dyche went on to say that obviously Elland Road is a difficult place to go, especially at this stage of the season as with a new manager and a fresh feel to the place everybody is on a high, but he felt we dealt with that well and a point from our travels was the least he felt we deserved.
With Sam Vokes getting himself back on the score sheet for the first time since March 2014, Dyche also had praise for him especially as he doesn't believe he's 100% match fit yet.
'It was a fine piece of play and a fine cross from Tendayi, but a fantastic header from Sam. He is coming back to real fitness and it takes time, people forget that. He is getting that real sharpness and you could see that today. He came on with that little zip and energy. It`s coming and I`m really, really pleased with his fitness.'
