Luke, A Man of Iron!

Luke, A Man of Iron!

Luke O`Neill is on his loan move travels again! The 22 year old defender last Monday joined League One Scunthorpe United on a three-month emergency loan and made his debut for the Iron the following Tuesday night in a home game against Fleetwood. It was not a particularly good start with the Iron going down 2-0 and O`Neill earning himself a yellow card. In a much better performance by Scunthorpe, he also played for them down at Yeovil this Saturday helping his side earn a point in a 1-1 draw to lift the Iron off the foot of the table.

O`Neill penned a new two-year deal with the Clarets this summer but will now play for Russ Wilcox`s Scunthorpe until the 18th November. He spent the majority of the 2013-2014 season on loan at York City making 16 appearances and scoring a solitary goal against eventual League Two champions Chesterfield.

He was then recalled by Sean Dyche in order to be a part of the first-team squad for the FA Cup trip to Southampton in January but was soon off again this time joining Southend on a 30-day emergency loan but his time with the Shrimpers was cut short due to injury.
