It was a Good Reid this Week!

It was a Good Reid this Week!

It was confirmed in style this week that the rumours surrounding Burnley`s interest in 33-year-old defender, Steven Reid were indeed true! On Monday he became Sean Dyche`s fifth signing of the summer after agreeing a one year deal. He was a free agent after being released by West Brom at the end of last season.

Dyche said of his new signing:

"Steven is a very strong minded professional and he has had years in the Premier League so he has that bit of experience and know how.

"I know him personally from his younger days at Millwall and he was a very solid pro then and he still is now, perhaps a more rounded version of what he was then"

Reid began his career at Millwall and Sean Dyche during his playing days at Millwall was a team mate of Reid in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

We now have yet another recent player on our books who has also played for the owd enemy, Blackburn Rovers. Reid signed for Rovers in a £2.5million move in July 2003 and made more than 100 Premier League appearances for the club before joining West Brom on a free transfer in the summer of 2010 following a loan spell at the Hawthorns. Whilst on Rovers books, he also had an earlier loan spell at QPR in 2009.

Welcome aboard Steven!
