Dyche Commits to Burnley and Signs New Deal!

Losing a manager in the top flight? Clarets fans still shudder when reminded of that awful time when we were last in the Premier League. Owen Coyle went from 'hero` to 'zero` after upping sticks in January 2010 and taking his management team to Bolton leaving Burnley in a pickle. That effective back-stabbing would ensure we would and could not recover. The appointment of Brian Laws proved a bit of a disaster and subsequently we were demoted back to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League.

The thought of history repeating itself now we are back in the top flight just didn`t bear thinking about especially with our manager recently being linked with moves to other Premier League clubs. Thankfully both West Brom and Southampton have now filled their vacancies and there was even better news this week following the announcement that Sean Dyche had signed a new deal confirming his commitment to Burnley as they prepare for a new life in the Premier League.

"We are very pleased to announce that we have agreed new and improved contracts with Sean Dyche and his staff," co-chairmen John Banaszkiewicz and Mike Garlick said in a joint statement this week.

"We thank them all for their hard work."

Dyche had a year left on his previous contract but the club are being coy on the length of the new deal simply describing it as 'new and improved` Assistant manager Ian Woan and first-team coach Tony Loughlan have also put pen to paper this week so it`s good news all round!

Talking about the new deal and the circumstances, Dyche said:

"I`ve always been here,

"There`s never been a problem with my contract. I`m more interested in the players. I didn`t want anything to detract from what we were doing.

"It was my suggestion that we just got on with things because the main importance at the club is the players. I`m here, because that`s part of what I do. My contract is fine - there was never an issue."
