Trips Staying Claret!
Clarets fans will be delighted to hear that 23-year-old right back Kieran Trippier has signed a new three-year contract with the club

He was Burnley's Player of the Year at the end of his first season with the club' Last season though he really shone in all departments with some impressive performances in defence, runs down the flank and in terms of his trademark crosses. His assists helped Burnley achieve automatic promotion to the top flight and people began to take note.
There was always a fear under such attention that another Premier League club might well have stepped in flashing their big wallet! It was rumoured that Arsenal might well have been interested in Trippier as a replacement for Bacary Sagna.
The France international right back was expected to leave the Gunners this summer and that was confirmed this week. He is now due to sign a three-year deal worth around £120,000 a week at Manchester City but it looks like Arsene Wenger will now need to identify a new replacement if the Trippier link was ever true. Newcastle and Southampton were also thought to be interested.
Trippier had one-year still remaining on his previous contract at Turf Moor and had been in talks since the end of the season trying to negotiate a new deal He will now remain with the Clarets until at least the summer of 2017 (subject to FA and Football League approval)
Talking before finalising the new deal Trippier told the local media:
"I left City because I wanted to play as many games as I can.
"City let me go and I don`t think I got the opportunity there, but I came here and I`ve enjoyed myself.
"I`ve been here three seasons now and been player of the year and got a promotion, so it`s not been bad!
"I`ve always said to myself, my dad, my mum, I`ll never make a better decision in my career to sign for Burnley.
"I want to play against the best players, the best teams and better myself.
"That`s my dream since I was at Manchester City.
"I`ve got a year left, I`m enjoying my football here, and we`re in talks.
"I`m happy at Burnley, I`m 10 minutes away, close to my family and friends, so we`ll see what happens."
The news today will be one huge relief for everybody associated with the club, especially the fans.
