Out and About-Ings!

Out and About-Ings!

Danny Ings was named in the starting eleven for England`s UEFA Under 21 Championship qualifier against Wales U21s at Swansea`s Liberty Stadium on Monday night and he helped his side to a 3-1 win. The victory moved England nine points clear of Moldova at the top of Group One, with only three games left to play. Ings played 56 minutes of football before being substituted to pick up his fourth cap. He couldn`t get on the score sheet this time and the night belonged to Nathan Redmond who notched up a hat-trick but Ings still drew praise from England Under 21 gaffer, Gareth Southgate.

"I must pay tribute to Danny Ings, who`s had an excellent season," said the former Middlesbrough manager

Ings will be 22 next month so won`t be able to feature in the finals in Toulon should England qualify. He can however continue to play in the qualifiers when they reconvene in September this year.

Meanwhile speculation continues in the media about his future at Turf Moor and whether he will move to pastures new with reportedly both Liverpool and Southampton keen to sign the hotshot striker. Danny Ings has insisted that he loves playing for the Clarets and is refusing to allow speculation about his future to distract him.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph recently after being questioned on how he would handle the rumours he said:

'I don't need to handle it. I'm just enjoying my football. I've still got a year left on my contract and I'm a player for Burnley Football Club.

'I love it here so I'm just going to concentrate on that.

'It's a family club and a great club to play for. It's a fantastic club. And I'm so proud of the lads and how well they've done this season.

'I live quite locally so I see a lot of fans and they show their appreciation for the whole team, not just me, and it's a great feeling to be a part of that. There are no egos at this club. Everyone's in it together, it's like one big family.'

Its the 'we dont have to sell' saga all over again Sean Dyche in BE-'This time last year, it emerged that the sale of Austin, ultimately for £4m, was necessary to balance the books, and Dyche added: "The main thing about Charlie was the board came out and made it clear that had to be done, it was just getting the right market price at that time. "It`s different now. The finances are a whole different ball game than last season. The club are a lot more secure financially, quite obviously, so we have a lot more power with the contracts and the players we`ve got. "When you`ve got good players, the team does well, you win; when your team does well and you win you get predators. It`s as simple as that. "It`s not so easy for people to be predators around, say, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea because they are so powerful they can keep players, the finances are so powerful they can reward them with huge contracts. "We`re not there yet. We can operate in the market and secure [Edited by turfmanphil]
