Turf Titbits

Well it has been one hell of a season and amidst all the celebrations regarding our promotion to the top flight you may have missed some little snippets of news realted to the Clarets so we provide an update below.

Austria Beckons in Pre-season!

Sean Dyche and his squad will prepare for life in the Premier League in pre-season by travelling to a training camp in Austria in the summer. They will also play a friendly against FC Gro├čKlein.

The tour begins on the 14th July and they will be based in the camp until the 21st July. The friendly against FC Grossklein will be played on the 20th July. Ticket prices are as follows: 50 Euros (VIP) includes hospitality, food and beverages; 12 Euros Adult; 6 Euros Children. FC Gro├čKlein, who play in the Styrian championship, are located around two hours south of Vienna and close to Graz.

The match is the first pre-season friendly to be confirmed by the club.

More Awards!

It was announced at the end of April at a ceremony in London that Burnley had three players in the PFA Championship team of the year.

You would have expected Danny Ings to be included considering he was the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year and so he was. He was joined by team mates, Kieran Trippier and skipper, Jason Shackell. Trips of course was the top assist-maker in the division and Shacks led his team to automatic promotion whilst being a rock in the centre of defence.

The full side was as follows:

Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City), Kieran Trippier (Burnley), Aaron Cresswell (Ipswich Town), Wes Morgan (Leicester City), Jason Shackell (Burnley), Danny Drinkwater (Leicester City), Andy Reid (Nottingham Forest), Craig Bryson (Derby County), Will Hughes (Derby County), Danny Ings (Burnley), Ross McCormack (Leeds United).

Wonder if we will play any Championship clubs pre-season now we are Premier League? Maybe one of the newly promoted ones from League 1? Wolves, Brentford? Preston if they come up?

I agree Aaron Cresswell would be a good buy.Very well thought of here and would provide lots of assists. Ipswich half expect to lose him,he is young and would probably not cost too much. Get in there before the big boys!!

We have been linked with Cresswell this week (w/e 16/5) along with a number of other Premier League clubs including Leicester City, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa
