Jones Pulls Cork Out The Claret!

Jones Pulls Cork Out The Claret!

The Clarets have left for for a training camp in Ireland and will be taking in a game with Cork City on Monday night. One new face that will be linking up with the squad is 28 year old former Wolves and Wigan Athletic midfielder David Jones, heavily linked with a move to Burnley this week.

Although not quite a done deal yet, it wil be an ideal opportunity for Sean Dyche to see what potential the player may have and it will also give Jones a chance to see if a move to Turf Moor might be a good fit.

The feeling amongst Burnley fans is that we could soon have an ideal replacement for Chris McCann if the left-footed central midfielder comes on board whilst at the same time making the Wigan mutual connection somewhat ironic!

I just hope that Mr Dyche can work a miracle with cast offs and young unproven players. Otherwise we are in trouble.

LT tonight (Tue 16th July): DAVID Jones is on the brink of joining Burnley, but it is believed he cannot officially become a Claret until next month. The 28-year-old is a free agent following his release from Wigan, but the midfielder is tied into a contractual agreement with his old club until the end of July.

Hope your right turfmanphil as we desperately need some positive news. I am getting fed up seeing other Championship sides signing released premier league players and players from Holland, Italy and Spain. There are even Div 1 sides signing players at the moment and I fear we are leaving it late in the day to get any quality.
