It's York Away in Capital One Cup First Round!

It's York Away in Capital One Cup First Round!

Burnley have been drawn away to League Two York City in the first round of the Capital One Cup. The game will be played at Bootham Crescent during the week commencing 5th August 2013. The actual date and ticket prices will be confirmed in due course.

The game may have some extra interest with young striker, Wes Fletcher having just become a Minsterman following his release by Burnley in the summer.

The Clarets last travelled to Bootham Crescent on Boxing Day 1998 when Andy Payton got a brace to help secure a point in a 3-3 draw.

Burnley were seeded for this draw along with Blackburn Rovers; the two clubs being amongst the 18 seeds in the Northern section for the draw that was carried out today at 9.30am.

That meant of course there was no possibility that the two East Lancs rivals would face each other at this early stage. Rovers in fact travel to Carlisle United for their first round game.

The full Capital One Cup first round draw was as follows:

Brighton and Hove Albion v Newport County
Colchester United v Peterborough United
Leyton Orient v Coventry City
Northampton Town v Milton Keynes Dons
Bristol Rovers v Watford
Cheltenham Town v Crawley Town
Stevenage v Ipswich Town
Birmingham City v Plymouth Argyle
Swindon Town v Torquay United
Millwall v AFC Wimbledon
Southend United v Yeovil Town
Charlton Athletic v Oxford United
Exeter City v Queens Park Rangers
Brentford v Dagenham and Redbridge
Wycombe Wanderers v Leicester City
AFC Bournemouth v Portsmouth
Gillingham v Bristol City
Port Vale v Walsall
Rotherham United v Sheffield Wednesday
Huddersfield Town v Bradford City
Leeds United v Chesterfield
Nottingham Forest v Hartlepool United
Morecambe v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Carlisle United v Blackburn Rovers
Oldham Athletic v Derby County
Sheffield United v Burton Albion
Notts County v Fleetwood Town
York City v Burnley
Tranmere Rovers v Mansfield Town
Barnsley v Scunthorpe United
Preston North End v Blackpool
Doncaster Rovers v Rochdale
Middlesbrough v Accrington Stanley
Shrewsbury Town v Bolton Wanderers
Bury v Crewe Alexandra

Might go to this, especially if Saturday Championship opener is a home game! Might stay up North depending when game is played. Not been to this ground before

Guess there wont be the passion this time with Coyle now gone so it could go either way. Depends what our squad looks like and whether we have any strikers left!! ;)
